*** Question about "Charlie" song ***

Date: Tue, 8 Apr 1997 06:30:33 (EDT)
From: Greg Brady
Subject: Question about unreleased RM song

A number of people have mentioned the unreleased Rich tune "Last Time I Saw
Charlie" is being performed in concert and when Rich plays it he mentions
the record company wouldn't allow its release.

A couple questions:

1) Has Rich mentioned what the label's objections were?
2) What is the lyrical matter of said song?

I have not heard the song and that's why I'm curious. Since "Jacob and 2
Women" could potentially have been controversial and the company released
that, I'm curious as to what could have been the problem with "Charlie".
Any info will be appreciated, privately or to the list.

*** Minneapolis, MN 4/4/97 review ***

Date: Thu, 10 Apr 1997 19:30:51
From: Mark Johnson
Subject: Minneapolis Review

These are my thoughts and my opinions and I am as fallible as the next
bloke. After much contemplation and prayer this is what I really wanted
and felt that I should write.

Herein is my complete and total review of the concert put on by This Train
and Rich Mullins and the Ragamuffin Band at Crystal Free Evangelical Church
in Minneapolis, MN:

The presence of the Holy Spirit was apparent throughout the concert by
anyone whose heart and mind were open to it. Complete and overwhelming
Christian love. Wow. That's it. The whole review.

Anything that needs to be said about Rich has already been said. To try
and reduce the concert into words would be to desecrate a thing of beauty
and I would fall miserably short.

My conclusion after having seen Rich in two different styles of
performances is the message of the Denton, TX Review; (sorry my email was
erased and I forgot their name) take someone who has never been to a Rich
Mullins concert. If you have been to one of Rich's concerts go. Any price
is worth it. My wife is attending grad school in Mobile, Al and I am in
Springfield, MO. She flew into Minneapolis and I drove. The cost of the
concert was worth it.
