Of course, I dubiously forgot that _such a thing as glory_, one of
my favorites, has some hammer dulcimer. as for the song _brother's
keeper_, think that what one person thinks might be a dulcimer is
actually a kalimba, that is if he was referring to that "plunky"
kinda sound, otherwise there is a lot of acoustic guitar being
picked in there which also might have led to the confusion.

Sad to hear that Rich might not be personally performing his musical,
but that's up to him, I guess.

From: Jim Neilssen Subject: Arvin writes on Mullins Date: Tue, 08 Oct 96 22:51:31 I have not been keeping up on the newsletter recently so I'm sure I missed this but there is an excellent article in the Sept-Oct Release Magazine where Reed Arvin talks about working with Rich and what it's like when Rich speaks out. Rich's article on the back page really touched me this time to. Good reading Jim

Thanks, Jim

Just a reminder, Brian William's Rich Mullins Fan Page has all of the Release Magazine articles by Rich online, as well as some other related articles. You can find both articles Jim has mentioned there.

Referring to [RichMailList 81]: "O Come All Ye Faithful" and [RichMailList 81a]: Re: "O Come All Ye Faithful", I found the album that has that song. I was Christmas album shopping and got two CD's from Radrockers, 25 Songs of Christmas (1989 Sparrow, Compact Disc/BWD 2042), and 25 Songs of Christmas, Volume II (1989 Sparrow, Compact Disc/BWD 2076). Volume II has the song, "O Come All You Faithful" by Debby Boone. The only credits listed on the CD liner notes say written by Richard Mullins, Copyright 1982 Meadowgreen Music (Tree Group) (ASCAP). I'm not sure I would have recognized it as a Rich Mullins song, had I not known, but I like it.

Just a quick note about the concert in Emporia, KS last night. It was very much like the concert last month described in [RichMailList 83]: Rich in Alabama Sept 14, except there was no speaker. Rich played, sang, and ministered for over three hours. It was great to see him again. No new details, I'll write a full review, which will include a few pictures. Thanks especially again to Mendy Pete, who we got to meet and visit with beforehand, for letting me know about the concert. Turns out Mendy used to date Mitch McVicar in college. Speaking of Mitch, I was pleasantly surprised by Mitch's participation in the concert tonight. He is a good songwriter/singer. More later...
