*** Dulcimer Question from Glen Schmidt ***

Date: Tue, 10 Jun 1997 23:30:41 (CDT)
From: Glen Schmidt
Subject: Re: [RichMailList 134]: Summer Tour Info

Dan,
Thanks for keeping up the list.

I am trying to learn a few of his songs on the Hammer Dulcimer, and I am
beginning to wonder if there is something else that I should know.

I have a question (or a couple, actually)
1) What kind of Hammer Dulcimer does Rich play (brand and size, i.e. Brand
x, 15/16, 16/17, fully chromatic etc.

2) Does he tune the instrument "standard" or "special" for his complicated
hammer patterns?

Thanks!

*** Interview with Rich by David Wang ***

Kathie Scott brought this to my attention on rec.music.christian. I contacted David, and he said I could repeat it here. Interesting interview - check it out! The interview took place on March 22, 1997.

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about whether Rich Mullins is
RC or not (not that it should ever be a big deal!). However, I recently
interviewed him and got the definitive response. THIS IS ONLY BEING POSTED
BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE CURIOUS. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO
DRAG UP THIS WHOLE RC/PROTESTANT ARGUMENT. Let's concentrate on winning
souls to Christ!
