Hi Rich Fans,
Here's some questions and comments -
From: Vivian Bush Date: Mon, 12 Aug 1996 11:46:42 Subject: Re: [RichMailList 79]: Very old friend of Rich... Hey, thanks for a great mailing list! I just signed up but I'm already enjoying it very much. It's nice to know I'm not the only person on earth who appreciates Rich. Being a younger fan (I've been out of high school less than twenty mumblemumble weeks!), I wanted to ask about the Zion band everyone keeps talking about. (I was four years old in 1982 and not paying attention to contemporary Christian music at all!) As a matter of fact I don't know much of anything about Rich's history before that first album. Obviously some of you have been following him a lot longer than I have! Thanks again, Vivian
In case you're new, there is already one resource for Zion and Behold The Man on COYN.

From: Steve Harris Date: Fri, 16 Aug 1996 01:44:02 (EDT) Subject: Re: [RichMailList 81]: "O Come All Ye Faithful" Hi Danl, Lately I've been checking into hammered dulcimers, solely because of Rich's wonderful use of this instrument. I'm planning on making my own from how-to books from the good-ol' public library, and I want to be sure It will play along readily with Rich's dulcimer songs. So I have 2 questions. 1. Does anyone possibly know any details on Rich's dulcimer? From the video I've counted 15 treble and 14 bass courses, but I'm not sure of their tunings. All the example dulcimers in the books I have are instruments with 12 and 11 courses. But I'm betting no one probably knows anything about this but Rich, the dulcimer maker, and probably Beaker. 2. Trying to determine how his dulcimer is tuned, I set out to find and figure out all the dulcimer parts to all of Rich's songs that use dulcimer. My list is as follows: Calling Out Your Name My One Thing Sometimes by Step Creed 78 Eatonwood Green Eli's Song Sing your Praise to the Lord Have I missed any? I was under the impression that Rich had alot of H. Dulcimer songs, but these are all I could come up with, a short but quality list. And surprisingly enough, All of these songs but 2 (78 Eatonwood and Eli's Song) are on his songs album. That's a very high percentage considering what a small percentage of all his songs they comprise. Maybe the H Dulcimer is an identifying mark in Rich's music. Thanks, Steve PS 2 more things, M.W.Smith plays piano on Be With You to my surprise and I can't believe they didn't put the Color Green on Songs.
From: Joan Slonecker Date: Fri, 16 Aug 1996 12:05:35 Subject: Reed Arvin Hi Danl, I have had two people ask me recently if they knew if Reed Arvin has produced anybody except Rich. I know I have seen his name other places but I can't think where. BTW, they have released _The Wind In the Wheat_ in small paperback and I have seen it in several Christian bookstores lately. Thanks, Joan

Reports from a friend were that he was not only there but "Musically outstanding, funny, and controversial" Classic Rich. I couldn't resell the tickets so....., oh well. Did you get any other reviews of the concert? Actually my friend was very taken by one of Rich's lead in's " Here's one of my favorites, and it goes something like this......Actually since I wrote it, it goes EXACTLY like this.". My guess is King David used this line when he did psalm 42, But to each generation..... The MailList has been outstanding recently, thanks for your faithfullness. For Him Jim
Well, I'm really embarassed now! I guess even though the William Morris Agency told me Rich wasn't doing WorldFest, I should've known better than to say anything without calling WorldFest myself. Oh well, I apologize to those of you who missed Rich and would have gone had I not said anything. (see the tour page)
