Hi Rich Fans,

I've received a couple messages expressing concern about missing concerts that were not on the tour list and/or were reviewed after the fact. I wish we could get more information about Rich's concerts, but the fact remains that some of dates are not getting to us in time or at all. I wish there were more that we could do, but unless I receive the info I can't post it. I get timely updates from the William Morris Agency, but they do not book all of Rich's dates. I will hopefully get a chance to visit with Gay Quisenberry about this situation this Saturday, and hopefully have some news for you.

This will most likely be the last post for the year, unless I receive hot news about dates, which I will foward to you, but not post to the Archive Page as an official RichMailList item. Since the tour list exists on the Archive Page, I will most likely continue this practice from now.

So anyway, here are a couple updates...

Lana Trent sent this info on the 1/25/97 concert that used to be booked at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN, but is now an Indianapolis concert.

Danl,

Found this in 'Christian Happenings' magazine and on their web site
(www.iwaynet.net/~wordcross):

Rich Mullins - Dec. 28, 7 pm, Benefit Concert, St. John's Lutheran, 15808
Manchester Rd., Ellisville, MO, TBD, 314-394-4100.

This may make a nice Christmas present for the family. I'll let you know if
we make it. And a wonderful Christmas to you and yours!

Tim

Here's the latest info on Rich's musical as gleaned from messages by Mark Robertson (Ragamuffin/This Train bass player) and Bob Michaels (Light 99 program director) posted to rec.music.christian

Mark writes:

Well, Rich wrote a musical called "Canticle Of The Plains." A CD of the
musical has been recorded. It features Kevin Smith and Mike Tate of DC
Talk, Leigh Bingham-Nash of Sixpence, and Rich's partner, Mitch McVicker
on vocals. Rich didn't sing on the musical, he wrote it.

The play is being staged, for rehearsal only at the moment, and the CD
should be available in May. You can order it through Rich's management, or
get it during the Ragamuffin '97 tour (May through Sep.). All profits go
to Compassion's Native American Program.

The play is supposed to start in the summer/fall of '97.

I've also heard that a filmed version of the play will be made
available...

Bob writes:

That's correct Mark,

However, a special advance performace is being staged for January 31st
and February 1st in Wichita, KS, where Rich lived for many years and
his management is based. The 1st night is sold out, the second still
has plenty of seats at 13.50 each (2,000 seat auditorium).

The night has not been finalized as far as agenda's go, but the rough
outline is:
1 hour of Rich and Ragamuffines
interlude with Jimmy doing some solo stuff and other Ragamuffins
then a 1 hour short version of canticle, with Rich narrating, etc...
it will NOT include the guest singers from the album to my knowledge,
just Mitch singing...
