Light 99 Compassion campaign update

Hi Rich Fans,

The following updates are from Bob "Michaels" Thornton, Light 99 Program Director.

First of all, I should clear up some confusion from the previous post concerning the Wichita Memorial RealAudio files. Several people are writing saying the mailing list told them Light 99 had those files online. Actually what it says is they will have the files online at the new site (http://www.light99.com) which will not be ready 'til Jan '98. Sorry for the confusion. Now for some great news about Compassion and the Canticle CD from Bob ...

Greetings Dan'l and fellow list members!

First let me thank you for your support of the Light 99 Compassion
campaign. About a third of our responses have been from the net, which is
tremendous. The folks at Compassion are humbled by your outpouring. We only
have about 75 ornaments left so if anyone wants to sponsor a child in
Rich's name be sure to visit http://www.light99.com or write
Compassion@light99.com today.

updated 14 Dec 97

Here's the update.

We ran out of Ornaments at 7am Friday (12/12). That's 144 sponsors in 10
days, 14 days before we were supposed to be done. Great job!

We are still seeking sponsors in memory of Rich, but no more ornaments are,
or ever will be available. They were truly limited edition.

Folks may visit http://www.light99.com through the holidays to learn more.
That same site is where Light 99 is moving to Monday, January 5th.

Canticle CD distribution update

Bob continues...

Now on to other business. Besides serving as Program Director for KTLI I
also do the web work for Better Book Room, a store that many of you have
ordered the Rich catalog from in recent months. I think all 9 albums are
back in stock now, but starting this Friday 12/5 we are priveledged to be
the only retail outlet for the Canticle Of The Plains CD.

Rich's estate has asked us to make the CD available both at the store in
Wichita and online at http://www.betterbookroom.com. The CD retails for $15.98
however we are giving it the same 20% discount as the Rich Mullins catalog
making your cost $12.78. No cassette is available.

Here is a mini-faq to answer any questions you may have:

1. How can I order it?
A. You have three ways to get the CD now: In Wichita simply come by the
store at 3rd & Main. Be sure to tell them you want the internet discount
price. Secondly, you can order online with Visa, Mastercard or American
Express. Go to http://www.betterbookroom.com and follow the link from the
main page. Finally you can order it by calling our store Toll Free
1-800-678-6119.

2. How much is it?
A. $12.78 each plus shipping

3. How much is shipping?
A. For domestic orders, shipping is $3 for UPS ground, however you can
choose from all UPS methods on the website, even getting it overnite if you
wish.

4. Does Compassion still benefit?
A. Yes! And that's the real beauty of this. If Kid Brothers had distributed
the CD through a national label the cut for Compassion would have shrunk
significantly. Our arrangement actually nets MORE money to Compassion on
each purchase and still enables us to discount the product.

5. How many do you have in stock?
A. 9,000!

If you have any other questions please write webmaster@betterbookroom.com.

Thanks!
Bob

updated 14 Dec 97 Rich's estate has given the Better Book Room an inventory of Canticle T-shirts. They are available to purchase online at http://www.betterbookroom.com. The shirts are tan/off white with the title wording on the front and "Wichita" underneath, on the back is the album cover. After these initial supplies, shirts will be re-ordered without "wichita" on them. So, if anyone wants the "collectors" wichita edition they should get them now, otherwise wait and see if we sell out and order plain ones. Each shirt is $11.96 and comes in L and XL only.
