Hi Rich fans,
Rich Mullins was a very dear friend of Light 99, and Bob Thornton has just finished the first phase of the Light 99 Scrapbook at http://www.light99.com/scrapbook.shtml.
This section of the Light 99 Page will feature some of their favorite memories, and the first offering is the previously promised real audio files from the Wichita Memorial Service. There are two links (one being 1 hour, 49 minutes and the other being 1 hour, 6 minutes). A quick note about these Real Audio files - Light 99 has an older server, version 2.0, so the quality is not superior. Also a buzz was present in the remote feed the night of the recording, but if you missed it, this is one is a must for fans of Rich Mullins.
Plans for the future include posting copies of Rich's handwritten lyrics to each of his final 9 songs, which are set to appear on The Jesus Record this June. As we get closer to the release date they'll post those full page scans so you can read the lyrics literally in Rich's own words, so check back. Other later additions will include radio interviews, pictures and tribute archives, including the audio and text from their "Man Of The Year" Presentation (broadcast last New Year's Eve). Coming in late May, Light 99 will produce a 1 hour radio special for the premiere of The Jesus Record, which will (as all Light 99 broadcasts are 24 hours a day) be available live on the Internet (similar to the Canticle Premiere). Check back for broadcast date & time. This site is made possible in part by the Better Book Room, a local Wichita store and online shop. If you haven't already done so (and many of you already have), check it out if you're looking for any of Rich's music or other related items. Some items are available exclusively at BBR.
This should keep you busy 'til we get back from GMA next week. Barring any unforseen computer wierdness, I plan to post to my GMA 98 Daily Diary Page at http://www.printinginc.com/scatcat/gma/gma98.html. I will be visiting with Mitch and his manager on Monday.
